Dreaming of Bondi
Adding to my creative filing cabinet. That's what travel does for me. Every place in the world has its own unique combination of colour and texture. When i'm starting a new project moodboard my first stop is to trawl through my travel photos. This post is the first in our new series #moodboardofthemonth – showcasing interior ideas inspired by places travelled. For hours more fun this #moodboardofthemmonth is also on pinterest so you can save what you likey for later.
This month i've been dreaming of Bondi (probably something to do with dreary Auckland greyness).
COLOURS OF BONDI
What I love about Bondi is the juxtaposition of natures watery best with bright, surf-inspired architecture and design.
The textures of Bondi are a both man-made and natural - think glossy street signage on sandy pavements...
From left to right:Formica gloss laminate in Maui, Resene Satin & Silk wallpaper, Warwick upholstery fabric Venture in Ocean, The Tile Depot Cinca wall tile in Ice Blue, AGB Stone Engineered Stilestone in Alpine White and Collect Living stripe rug in sand and white.
INTERIORS OF BONDI
The Bondi interior is classically relaxed... white base with natural timbers and bold colours of the sea.
Featured above: The epic original carving Ocean Currents by Hannah Jensen from Endemicworld sets the scene. The bold white lines of the Louvre sideboard from Collect Living is softened by the relaxed mid-century sofa from Mr Bigglesworthy. Mix and matched cushions cover both colour and texture : Flete Cushion in Mint from Country Road, The Easy Leather Round cushion by Mr Jason Grantand Ziggy Velvet Sham cushion in Mustard from Shut the Front Door. On the sideboard: Green Gothenburg Vase from Collect Living and Faded Amber Vase from Country Road.
